Witch Fingers Cookies – Halloween Special

Halloween is just around the corner. So, I decided to make some spooky treats! Imagine you were in a graveyard and suddenly feel the touch of ghoulish fingers on the back of your neck, those fingers would strongly resemble these sweet witch finger sugar cookies! Gross everyone out with these creepy cookies!

These are just normal sugar cookies shaped like fingers with almonds on top resembling the nails. Check out the recipe below:
Ingredients:

Sugar Cookie dough :
1 1/2 cup white sugar / brown sugar

2/3 cup margarine or butter
2 teaspoons baking powder
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 egg
2-3 cups all purpose flour
1 almond for each finger
Red icing/ strawberry syrup / jam etc

Directions :

Preheat oven to 375F

Add sugar and butter into a bowl and keep mixing until it forms a smooth paste like this

Add the egg, vanilla extract , salt, baking powder and mix thoroughly.
Add flour to this mixture, little at a time to form a smooth dough like this. Keep mixing and kneading while adding the flour.
Flour your countertop and prepare your baking sheep by greasing it a little bit
Take about a half inch dough ball and roll it out like a snake.
Now with your middle finger and your pointer finger, form 2 contours. With a knife, make 2 or 3 impressions on each risen part of the finger. These will form the knuckles. Press an almond onto the top of the finger to form the nail and the nail bed.

Put the fingers onto the baking tray and bake at 375F for10-12 minutes

After 10-12 minutes, let the cookies cool. Now take out the almonds and add some red icing/strawberry syrup or any jam to the hollows. Replace the nail so that it looks like the blood has oozzed out. You may also dip the base of the finger into the red icing/strawberry syrup/jam.
Your creepy, spooky yet delicious Halloween treats are ready to be served!
